Boise’s West End is a once-forgotten neighborhood that is rapidly transforming with amazing parks along the Boise River, a diverse mix of people, public art in the works, and the new Whitewater Park Boulevard. The West End is close to downtown and almost everything else.
I created this commemorative map for the city and CCDC. I began with a layer of fabrics (linen, burlap, painted canvas) and chalk pastels for the river and park green spaces. I had this scanned and it served as a base for me to add visual interest with sketches, logos and tid-bits of information. The copywriters at Rizen made it sound great. The 11×17 size is perfect for posting on the wall.
