making art specific to its place

I’m a designer who thrives on new challenges and collaborations in public art and graphic design.

I want everything I make to be meaningful and memorable: rooted in place, responsive to community, and specific to the landscape and built environment it calls home. I partner with the best local craftsmen to bring large-scale installations to life in steel and aluminum, and bring the same sensibility to logos, signage, illustration, and hand lettering.

My personal work is a different kind of obsession: I’ve made over 150 miniature historic buildings (farmhouses, barns, and cottages out of wood), and each one is a small act of reverence for the structures people build and remember.

I hold a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and founded my own studio in 1997. I’m on the public art roster for Oregon and for the state of Washington. I’m an artist on contract with the City of Boise Arts & History Department, and the City of Meridian Parks Department. I’m also a recipient of the Idaho Governor’s Award for Excellence in Visual Arts in 2022.

My handcrafted small works are available at Idaho Art Gallery, The James Castle House General Store, The Wassmuth Center, and The Idaho State Museum Gift Shop.

My favorite things include my family, purring cats, gigantic necklaces, the small thrill of repurposing an object, throwing parties, biking the greenbelt, Spacedust IPA, sledding, and homemade egg rolls. Not necessarily in that order, but probably.
