PUBLIC ART: POPSICLE SUN

POPSICLE SUN was inspired by a little Boise boy who was a giving spirit in his short life. Young Isaiah organized food drives, made a cardboard ‘helpbot’ with his siblings, and shared popsicles as a way to meet new friends. Isaiah’s mom said the freezer was always stocked and he made sure everyone got their favorite flavor. This was the inspiration behind my artwork POPSICLE SUN. It is lit from behind and around the yellow center. It is made out of acrylic that I hand painted on the reverse side. A big thank you to Trademark Creative and Boise Electric for all of their help.
