The stairway in the new Nampa Public Library needed a little somethin’. The area has the feel of transparency and makes a person look up, as does this quotation I chose. It reads, “I believe that if one always looked at the skies, one would end up with wings. – Gustave Flaubert”.
I digitized my hand lettering and Trademark Sign Company carefully cut it out of thin plywood. The blonde color matches the other signage in the building, and the standoffs add some great shadowlines.
If you look closely you can see that I painted soft feathers in a white metallic paint behind the quotation to add another layer of interest.
