Hawthorne Elementary Native Plants Learning Landscape Signage

Public

It is wonderful to see sketches become reality, especially when your clients are up for anything! Because of local activist / dynamo Amy Pence-Brown and BLM Botanist Holly Beck, a native plant garden and learning environment is now a reality at Boise’s Hawthorne Elementary School.

I collaborated with artist/fabricator Ken McCall to create these garden signs––a nose with “hair” grasses for the sensory garden, a head planter for the experimental garden, an easel for the artist garden, and a hummingbird sign for the pollinator garden. I also designed 4 interpretive panels that line the walkway.

How lucky are the students at Hawthorne Elementary?!
